Cherry-blossom viewing in Shinjuku-Gyoen (April 6, 2013)

Foreign Students Supporting Club (Volunteer group cosisted of alumni of the University of Tokyo) have planned Cherry-blossom viewing event in Shinjuku-Gyoen.

Walking through Yushima and Ueno Park

We will visit Yushima Tenjin Shrine which is famous for blossoms of plum and the memorial hall of Taikan Yokoyama who was a leader of Japanese painting.and thereafter walk through the Ueno Park.

ANA Haneda maintenance facility one-day tour (Feb.28)

We will visit ANA Maintenance Facility in Haneda Airport area and observe airplanes which aircraft maintenance crews work on.

Event to introduce Japan- The New Year Rice-cake Making Festival

Mochi (rice-cake) is a Japanese traditional food for New Year. Graduate School of Frontier Science (GSFS) will organize an rice-cake making event by the use of large wooden mortars and pestles (traditional tools for rice-cake making) on January 12. Non-GSFS members are welcome!

Event to introduce Japan-Japanese Kite-Making Course~Make a Japanese kite and fly it in Japan’s sky!~ (Jan. 13, 19, 27)

We have planned a event to introduce Japanese culture with Kashiwa City.
Your family members are also welcomed.

Free Film Screening 【Hayabusa】(August 01, 2012)

Kashiwa Library and KIO together will be holding Japanese film screening with English subtitles. This movie is about HAYABUSA, an unmanned spacecraft which was launched to the orbit by JAXA in 2003 and returned to the erath in 2010. You will see JAXA's enormous efforts for this project.

Festival Parade - Kashiwa Matsuri (July 29, 2012)

KIRA (Kashiwa International Relations Association) invites international students & researchers to Kashiwa Matsuri Parade. Let's join the largest festival in Kashiwa City with your friends & family. You may rent a 'yukata' for this event.
